Ben Sparks
Varsity Head Coach

 

Education:
A Sequoyah High School graduate (Class of 2010), Coach Sparks earned his bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from Reinhardt University in 2014 and later completed his Teaching Certification in Special Education at the University of West Florida in 2016.

 

Playing Career:
At Reinhardt University, Coach Sparks played lacrosse for three years, contributing to the program’s early success and helping secure its first-ever victory — a 15–7 win over Furman University. After starting all 13 games as a freshman and proving himself as a dedicated competitor, he made the decision to forgo his senior season to begin his coaching career and pursue his passion for developing young athletes.

 

Coaching Career:
Coach Sparks began his career at Pickens County High School, coaching both football and baseball and contributing to multiple playoff runs in each sport. He later joined Sequoyah High School’s football staff, serving as Running Backs Coach and Freshman Offensive Coordinator, helping lead the Chiefs to multiple GHSA state playoff appearances. As Head Coach of the Sequoyah Men’s Lacrosse program since 2018, Coach Sparks has built a strong foundation focused on growth, culture, and competitive success.

 

Personal:
Coach Sparks lives in Canton with his wife, Brittan, and their son, Barrett. He enjoys coaching youth sports, volunteering with his church, and supporting the Sequoyah community through programs like Chiefs TV. Known for his leadership and dedication, Coach Sparks continues to inspire players both on and off the field.
